Today’s Dish- September 2025
September has arrived, but we didn’t. We were too busy cooking, crying, laughing, creating, and surviving. Now we’re back - with mushrooms in our hands, recipes in our kitchen, and Mr. Mush-Mush watching from a side.
We’ll post daily photos from our 14 days mushroom journey. No step by step, no measurements - just an image, a quote, a recipes of feelings. Full chaos, full flavor. For full stories: follow us on TikTok @ElenaandAtlas
1. 14 Days of Mushrooms stars tomorrow.

We’re cooking mushrooms. We’re not sure why. Maybe because the world doesn’t lister, and mushrooms grow in the dark. Follow us on TikTok, or don’t. We’ll still be here. With no rules. Just taste and truth.
2. Portobello Burger, Mayo, and Mr MushMush official Appearance

Day 1 of 14: we kept our promise to cook no matter what. It was not planned to look like this. But neither did history to start with a mushroom. No rules. Just glossy brioche, tomato sliced like the moon, potatoes golden try to take the scene, and Mr MushMush face above them all.
TikTok - watch the full video. Or don’t. Either way we will be here, writing, laughing, and telling stories that grow in the dark.
3. The Rainy Soup with the wrong light - still warm, still beautiful, still ours.

Day 2 of 14: we didn’t plan for this one to be dark, but life doesn’t ask you to wait for the perfect light. We still made soup. Mushroom, onion, garlic and thyme. Allow some time then add your cream, then dill. Bled as smooth as you want it to be.
We almost give up. But we didn’t. We cooked, we eat, and choose the blanket. And somehow the soup smiled back.

3. Mushrooms Mayo Salad with a Sliced of Hope

Day 3 of 14 - We didn’t grow up with poached eggs or sourdough bread. But we did grow up with something better - a salad that survived the times, memories, and poverty. And still tastes like comfort. Our Mums made it with love and lot of garlic, always using canned mushrooms, because they just worked. They still do. Fresh mushrooms? Too wet, too clean, no story. This recipe-no- recipe is not fancy. It’s a communist-era childhood memory. Now dressed. Wearing a soft egg crown and pretending to be a brunch served with a slice of hope.
Click here to see the video - Watch on TikTok. Or share it. Or just remember. Or don’t. Tomorrow we’ll eat again.
4. The Fire we Choose to Curry

Day 4 of 14 - we didn’t grow up with Thai red curry. But today we choose fire. Some button mushrooms- whole and unbroken- because sometimes you need to feel complete even in the heat. And a kit from Aldi, and no, it wasn’t fancy. But we gave it meaning. We soften the vegetables, burned the onion, stirred in love, and dared to eat spicy on a day that felt bland. Watch it here - on TikTok. Share it, or don’t.
But know this: we didn’t let today pass cold. We made curry, we made meaning, we test, and we taste. And tomorrow? We’ll do it again.
5. Midnight Mushroom Fries

Day 5 of 14- We planned to make an omelette on this day. But sometimes what you plan in advance doesn’t work. Not with us.
What we made instead was midnight fire dreams for our tired hearts. Fried onions, some mushrooms, air-fried potatoes, and strings of cheddar cheese. We couldn’t smile. We said - “maybe it’s not the best meal we could have”. Then we’ve ate. In silence of our own thoughts, in hopes that food is giving us some comfort. And this is exactly the kind of beauty that happens only when dreams decide to never end.
It was cold outside at midnight, but we learned that not everything is planned. Some things just … arrive quietly, with no warning, and too fast to have time to react. But one thing is sure. The real love will always survive through the dark night.

But know this - we didn’t let the midnight pass. We cooked, we test, we taste, we post. And tomorrow? We’ll do it again.
6. Penne alla Vodka now in Elena&Atlas version- with mushrooms, Palinka, and Hopes

Day 6 of 14- This dish came from a last night. A cold night — when we had just enough in the fridge to make something almost right. But that’s the thing about real love and real pasta: it doesn’t need to be perfect to be beautiful. We fried the mushrooms like they owed us money and poured the rice I’ve-as-a-gift Palinka we found hidden in that dark corner of our once warm kitchen. We made dinner. You and me. And dinner made us feel a little less lost. We ate together. And we get drunk in the forest of love.

But know this - we didn’t let the midnight pass. We cooked, we test, we taste, we post. And tomorrow? We’ll do it again.
7. Tikka Masala Mushrooms- Classic, but Adopted

Day 7 of 14: sometimes dinner it’s not about the recipe. It’s about reclaiming it. About saying - yes, I see your tradition. Now here is our version: with mushrooms. With garlic, with tears. And love.
Tikka Masala with mushrooms was all what we needed- creamy, reach, spicy. Comfort. This was adoption. A love letter to flavored that crossed oceans and borders - and somehow still made it into our tiny kitchen, where hopes sulks in a bowl nearby, and our hearts sing songs just to feel they’re alive.
it was supposed to be just a dinner. But it turned into a protest of cumin. A hug into the garlic breath. A quiet song onto the language of spice.
Watch here, on TikTok. Wear the apron. Or don’t.
But know this - we didn’t let the midnight pass. We cooked, we test, we taste, we post. And tomorrow? We’ll do it again.
8. Tartlets, Trouble and our 10-Year-Old Knife
Day 8 of 14 days of Mushrooms. Leftover tartlets for breakfast, sitting on the cold windowsill, geese flying outside, a spider hanging mid-air. We didn’t let the day pass without cooking, tasting, posting. Even now, in this foggy uncertain morning, we’re still here. Still making. Stories, memories, one step at a time. That’s rare. But that’s us. More than just Love. It’s our way of expressing together. A way of dreaming, of seeing, of feeling, in this kitchen of words. A Cafe where the mess is welcomed to stay, where experiments are joy, where tests are coated in colorful clothes, where truth is embraced in love.
Watch here, on TikTok. Drink from a cheap mug. Or don’t. We have ours anyway.
But know this - we’ll not let the day pass. We cook, we test, we taste, we post again and again. With love, with warmth. Together. And tomorrow? We’ll do it again.
9. Mushroom Stew with Sour Cream, Bread, and a Blanket for the Soul
Day 9 of 14 Mushrooms. Sometimes you don’t want rules. Sometimes you want to open a can, stir in the thing you actually have, and feel like someone’s holding your hand while the spoon stir the pot. Last night, that’s exactly what we did. A symphony of flavors made from love, Aldi tins, and just enough rebellion to keep everything together. Double cream added? Nope. Double just double- hearts in the shape of a stew, souls alive keeping warmth under a blanket. All served with sourdough bread to wipe the edge of the plate. Not every stew needs a story. But if you have one, let it be a love story. Of cream, and dill, and garlic, and quiet togetherness.
Watch the full episode on TikTok. And tomorrow? Well, tomorrow we’re cooking risotto, but not by the book. Jamie, close your eyes - we’re adding dill and maybe again splash of cream. Double. To double the dreams.
